Thanks

I'm grateful for tea and for the ancient Chinese emperor, Shen Nung, who ordered all drinking water to be boiled for hygiene, and whos kettle received some stray dried leaves one day from a nearby tea plant. (Okay it's a myth, but I love myths.)

I'm grateful for perfume, which above and beyond any of it's own merits, has brought many warm and wonderful people into my life. If you're reading this, you're probably one.

I'm grateful for books. Not talking books, not e-books....books. Bindings, spines, paper (glorious paper). The satisfaction of turning the first page...the despair at reading the last. I've heard some people say that books as we know them won't even exist in a few hundred years. Bullshit...these people don't understand the burning love of booklovers for their real books.

I'm grateful for trees. They give so much and ask for so little in return. Just some space to spread their roots and some sky. Imagine a world without trees. Scary.

I'm grateful for Patsy Cline. Her voice reminds me that sometimes angels really do walk among us.

I'm grateful for makeup, hair dye, stockings, supportive undergarments and all other deceptive female accoutrements.

I'm grateful for handwritten letters. They are becoming as rare as a blue moon. If someone pens a letter to you in their own hand, you should cherish it.

I'm grateful for non-stick cookware. And popcorn.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

I share your gratitude and cherish you guys...
Feel blessed, on this day where there is a blissful lack of most nonsense [ with the exception of those steroidal football guys !].

Hi Mary,

A Thanksgiving Poem for you.

** All in a Word **

*By Aileen Fisher*

T for time to be together, turkey, talk, and tangy weather.
H for harvest stored away, home, and hearth, and holiday.
A for autumn's frosty art, and abundance in the heart.
N for neighbors, and November, nice things, new things to remember.
K for kitchen, kettles' croon, kith and kin expected soon.
S for sizzles, sights, and sounds, and something special that abounds.
That spells ~~~THANKS---for joy in living and a jolly good Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dawn

Thank you too, boo boo kitty. Ya know, your absolutely right about hand written notes. They are so important in the age of e-everything. Which reminds me... I have some catching up to do in that department.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Late to the party, but hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I am also grateful for books (which won't die; fear not!) and non-stick pans! (LOL)

And of course for knowing people who share the passion for perfume and the pleasure it brings.
