February 28: White

Comme des Garcons
White

Spices, lily of the valley, May rose, pomegranate, vanilla, cedarwood, amber

White is a more feminine play on CdG's wonderful original eau de parfum, and is in many ways a study in contrasts.  The floral notes are round and sweet, but cool.  The note of cinnamon that trails through the blend is pronounced, yet playful.  The base is woody, yet damp.

But the thing I like most about White is that it is a very aloof perfume.  I often read about other perfume wearers' love of certain 'comforting' fragrances.  I love that White isn't comforting.  It's a tall, cut crystal glass of ice on a snowy windowsill.

This wraps up my February perfume review-a-day project! It's been fun to discipline myself to write these, and to share them with you.

Tea, Sympathy and Perfume will be on hiatus for a little while.

See you in the Spring - may she arrive early and on winged feet!

You did a beautiful job with this month-long perfume-review-a-day project, Mary. I really enjoyed them all.
