As I suspect most of us do, I love many things about all four seasons and I'm fortunate to live in an area of the USA in which I get a taste of everything - from freezing cold to tropical heat waves. Phil and I often talk of moving to Florida when our respective careers end, but how much would I miss the colorful chill of autumn or the cold budding of new spring? Or even the bare trees and the bite of winter? Maybe not at all. Maybe a lot.

Ah, but there are things I miss from Florida now that I'm living up north. I miss knowing exactly what the weather was every day (90 degrees with humidity in the morning, rain from 2-5PM, alligators). I also miss the beaches. The absolutely breathtaking lightening displays during a thunder storm. And I miss anoles (lizards).
Every place has its wonders, and I know I'd be like you if I moved back down to Florida. I'd miss having four seasons. :) You'll find your balance.
I am trying to focus on the beauty of the winter season this year so it doesn't get me down and fantasizing about moving South :)
Went on a peaceful snowy walk on Christmas Day into the woods, there is magic in the cold air, leafless trees. More of a chance to see a wild animal, the nests so visible...
I think I know pretty definitively at this point in my life that, though my body is starting to most emphatically take note of the changes of season (heck, changes in barometric pressure), it would be very difficult for me to have a life without four seasons.
However, I also know that landscape is key for me; I need green AND blue, trees and water.
Interesting creatures we are.
You would miss it Mary! I lived in Florida for 5 years and could not wait to move back to Michigan!
